ROLAND GINZEL's tendency towards landscapes informs his bold abstractions. Ginzel, who is in his late eighties, is looking back a half century to the artist's own abstract drawings and monotypes which influence his paintings. Ginzel's long, active relationship with Chicago is not diminished by his retirement to Massachusetts. He continues to challenge himself and succeeds by creating arresting, naturalistic representations of landscapes in harmony with linear networking of color and form. |
