VADIM KATZNELSON's focus has always been that of "pushing the paint." The following artist's statement is a concise expression of his approach to creating art:

"I attempt to invent new ways of painting, new ways of making and new ways of seeing. My work is about individuality, fragile and mercurial, and reflects my search for the absolute in beauty, a new painting process and a distilled purity of idea and form."

As one views Katznelson's work it must be remembered that there is no element other than paint used to make his nearly sculptural formations of color and texture. All that the artist creates is purely paint.
