Anthony Sorce

ANTHONY SORCE is committed to developing a physically engaged way of making art that is open to chance. He wants to be simultaneously involved in and removed from his process, harmoniously melding ideas from both Abstract Expressionism and something closer to Conceptual Art.

Sorce's modestly sized pieces evoke lush but tumultuous landscapes, often from an aerial perspective as if the viewer is experiencing the rush of existence or the creation of new worlds, new shapes, fields, and colors from a plane.

On closer inspection one appreciates the rich textural work that Sorce produces using a variety of means, including printers' tools.

From near or far, the pieces sing and dance and appear to play as the light changes.
